Welfare Fraud Arrest in Ilion

The Herkimer County Sheriff’s Office Welfare Fraud Unit, assisted by the Herkimer County Department of Social Services, recently arrested the following individual for various Welfare Fraud charges.

Haley Shepard, age 33 of Ilion, NY, was arrested for Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a class E Felony, and Welfare Fraud in the Fourth Degree, a class E Felony.

Shepard fraudulently received in excess of $ 1,900.00 worth of benefits in which she was not entitled to receive over a period of 6 months.

Shepard was processed on the charges and released on an appearance ticket. She is scheduled to appear in the Village of Herkimer Court at a later date.
