The Canal system is scheduled to close to navigation at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. All vessel operators must plan their trips accordingly to ensure they exit the system by that time.
Commercial shipping and tour boat operators that have obtained a Post Navigation Season Permit are permitted to be on the Canal system according to the terms of their permit.
2027 Navigation Season
The Canal Corporation anticipates opening the Canal system in May 2027 for the 203rd navigation season. The opening date and hours of operation will be announced in a subsequent Notice to Mariners.
