PREVIOUS WEEK RECAP
The Dawgs played six games last week, with two of them getting suspended.
- On Sunday, June 15, the Dawgs traveled to Glens Falls to face the Dragons. Mohawk Valley brought their “A” game as they shut out their hosts 2-0. Joey Calabretti picked up the win on the pitcher’s mound while John Calabrese led the way on offense with three hits and a run scored.
- The following night, Mohawk Valley returned home to face the Boonville Lumberjacks. Mother Nature was not in the mood for baseball that night, as rain forced the game to be suspended in the second inning with the visitors leading 2-0. The rest of this game will be made up on Tuesday, June 24, at 5:00 p.m. as the first game of a doubleheader.

- The scene shifted to Boonville the following night, as the teams squared off in a doubleheader at the Robert Smith Sports Complex. The home team won a high-scoring game one 11-7, in a game Mohawk Valley led 7-2 in the third inning. In game two, the Dawgs redeemed themselves with a 1-0 victory with pitchers Andrew Gendi, Drew Harris, and Brendon Miller combining for the shutout. Edwin Sanchez singled home John Calabrese for the game’s only run.

- Thursday night saw the Dawgs return home to face the Saugerties Stallions. With storm clouds threatening in the late innings, a downpour opened up just as the bottom of the ninth inning was to begin, with the Dawgs trailing 3-2. This game will be completed on Sunday, June 29, at Veterans Memorial Park with a start time of 5:00 p.m.

- A trip back to Glens Falls was on the schedule for Friday, but this time the Dawgs fell short, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Dragons. Mohawk Valley came back to tie the game at two in the top of the eighth, but Glens Falls pushed what would be the game-winning run across in their half of the inning.
Despite the setback in Glens Falls on Friday night, the Dawgs ended the week on a high note with an 8-7 walk-off win against the Utica Blue Sox on Saturday night at Veterans Memorial Park. With the score tied at seven in the bottom of the ninth inning, Joey Calabretti drove home Sean Story (who was pinch running for Ethan Pues) to complete the comeback.
