Texas Stock Exchange officially goes live.

While Texas forges ahead with the launch of its new stock exchange in a move to attract businesses and investment, New York continues to lead the nation in population exodus and suffers under the highest tax burden in the country and one of the worst business climates.

Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R ,C-Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks) slammed the state’s ongoing attacks on taxpayers and the financial services industry, saying, “New York’s greedy and adversarial attitude toward taxpayers and job creators is on full display. While Texas builds ‘Y’all Street’ to welcome businesses, Albany and socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani continue to push policies like expanding the stock transfer tax that drive trading, jobs and investment out of New York City and into states like Texas and Florida. These moves hurt New Yorkers trying to save and weaken our status as the financial capital of the world.”

Smullen has repeatedly warned that such policies accelerate New York’s economic decline and punish the very industries that power our economy.

Assemblyman Robert Smullen represents the 118th Assembly District, which includes Hamilton County and parts of Montgomery, Fulton, Herkimer and Oneida counties.
