Section III Football Playoff Matchups Announced

The high school football playoff season is here!

The Section III high school football playoffs matchups are set, and five schools represent southern Herkimer County. They will open the playoff season with four quarterfinal games across Classes B, C, and D, as well as 8-Man. The times, dates, and locations of those games are listed below.

Class B

#5 Central Valley Academy Thunder (4-4) at #4 Indian River Wolves (5-3) – Quarterfinals.

• Date: October 30.
• Time: 6:00 p.m.
• Where: Indian River High School.
• CVA and Indian River played once in the regular season, as the Wolves defeated the Thunder 60-24 on September 12 at Diss Athletic Complex.

Class C

#6 Little Falls Mounties (3-5) at # Marcellus Mustangs (6-2) – Quarterfinals.

• Date: October 30.
• Time: 7:00 p.m.
• Where: Marcellus High School.
• Little Falls and Marcellus played once in the regular season. The Mustangs defeated the Mounties 43-21 on September 5 (season opener) in Marcellus.

Class D

#7 Herkimer Magicians (2-6) at #2 Dolgeville Blue Devils (7-1) – Quarterfinals.

• Date: October 30.
• Time: 7:00 p.m.
• Where: Dolgeville High School.
• This will be the second time the Magicians and Blue Devils meet in less than a week. They played on October 24 in Dolgeville with the Blue Devils winning 68-14. It was the only time they faced each other in the regular season.

8-Man

#8 Clinton Comets (3-5) at #1 Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights (8-0) – Quarterfinals.

• Date: November 1.
• Time: Noon.
• Where: Frankfort-Schuyler High School.
• Frankfort-Schuyler and Clinton did not meet in the regular season.
