LITTLE FALLS — Season two of the Building Local Business podcast launched with a familiar face and a lot of new ground.

Host Carl Ulinski sat down with Tammy Crossway of Renewed and Rescued, who returned as a guest and was newly announced as a co-host.

Crossway said the consignment side of her Herkimer shop has taken off and that she and her husband launched Timeless Treasures in July – a full-service estate solution for families who inherit a house and don’t know where to start.

Unlike companies that chase only large, high-profit estates, Timeless Treasures will clean out, stage for photos, coordinate dumpsters and movers, or run a sale – whatever the family actually needs.

Out-of-town heirs deal with one person instead of half a dozen vendors. Estimates are free; meetings happen in the evenings or on Sundays if that’s what works.

The company’s current job is a large estate in the Hamilton area packed with one-of-a-kind pieces: a 1937 hot rod project with a big-block Chevy, a custom-built steamboat the owner assembled himself, a 1957 Old Town canoe, an apple cider press, winemaking gear, Victrolas, ham-radio equipment, and a loft full of woodworking tools.

Crossway has been listing the bigger items ahead of the late-September sale dates because, as she put it, “I can’t imagine somebody coming to an estate sale and saying, ‘Oh, I want a steamboat.’”

Proceeds are meant to help two young girls left behind. Gina Hartman of Brandon Mosier Realty / River Hills listed the house on Sept. 11.

Crossway’s longer-term goal is more locations – she half-jokingly called it becoming a “thrift store mogul” – while keeping quality high and helping people who simply need a dresser or table.

The store already works with DSS and will give items away when someone is in real need.

The episode also covers Ulinski’s Ila Media “Pro Boards” – TV screens inside 21 local businesses from Little Falls to New Hartford that cycle local ads, weather, and community spots.

Partner locations get $100 a month in free advertising.

New episodes are planned for the second and fourth weeks of the month (Thursdays). Crossway and Ulinski are looking for other local owners, events, and short 10- to 15-minute segments.

They flagged today’s Garlic Fest at Canal Place (Sept. 12) and the Fort Clock craft fair.
