Never Forget How the First Responders Responded Well

Rev. Wanda Faith Sewell

In Upstate NY we were praying & praising God in chapel on September 11, 2001
Still, it was on that Tuesday morning when evil had begun
Four planes were highjacked and those with evil tried
In just that moment of time no one could hide!

Two planes caused the World Trade Center to be hit
Then the Pentagon was added to their crypt
The final plane had heroes who were aboard
They bound together to make a mighty brave cord!

In a Pennsylvania field that plane went down
Another evil was averted as the plane hit the ground
As America and even others in the world were in shock
Those who did their evil deeds were stopped by a clock!

Many people on that solemn day did die
The world stood and watched wondering why
Tears were now being shed over those who were lost
Now The First Responders had to pay a hefty cost!

The First Responders grabbed their gear in this race
Burning consumed, but they went in to rescue by God’s Saving Grace
Even though a quarter of a century has gone by we tell
Never forget how the First Responders Responded well.
