LITTLE FALLS, NY — Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts (MVCA) will bring together local nonprofit organizations and community members for a special Rooftop MV Gives Kickoff Event on Thursday, September 17, from 5:30–7:30 p.m. on the rooftop of Rock City Centre in Little Falls.
The event is being held in celebration of Mohawk Valley Gives, the region-wide day of giving that connects community members with nonprofit organizations making an impact throughout the Mohawk Valley.
MVCA is opening the rooftop to fellow participating nonprofits, creating an opportunity for organizations to share their missions, connect with the community and build awareness of the important work happening throughout the region.
Organizations joining MVCA for the event include the Little Falls Youth and Family Center, Youth & Family Center of Mohawk Valley, Community Outreach, WCA (Women’s Christian Association), Little Falls Library, Empowered Pathways, Herkimer County Office for the Aging, Miles for Meg and the Little Falls Scholarship Fund.
Guests will have the opportunity to meet representatives from these organizations, learn more about their missions and the people they serve, and discover how their support can make an impact right here in the Mohawk Valley.
The event also provides an opportunity to give early for Mohawk Valley Gives and take advantage of any available donor matches and incentives. For those who may be less familiar with online giving, laptops will be available along with volunteers who can help walk guests through the online donation process.
The rooftop gathering will feature live music, food and refreshments, creating a casual community atmosphere where residents can connect with local organizations and learn more about the many ways they are strengthening the Mohawk Valley.
“This event is really about bringing people together,” said Caren Woolner, Executive Director of Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts. “There are so many organizations doing incredible work throughout our community. We want to use this opportunity to celebrate that work, help our neighbors learn more about it, and make it easy for people to support the causes that mean the most to them.”
MVCA invites the community to stop by throughout the evening, meet the participating organizations, and help kick off Mohawk Valley Gives with a celebration of generosity, connection, and the impact of local nonprofits.
