As we prepare for the 2026 season, the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs are expecting one of our largest and most diverse rosters ever. With players coming from across the country, we are looking to expand our outstanding group of host families to ensure every athlete has a safe, welcoming place to call home.
Creating a positive living environment is one of the most important things we do. From Memorial Day through August 1, the Mohawk Valley becomes each player’s home away from home, and a host family helps provide a sense of stability, comfort, and community. Many players and families form lifelong bonds that last well beyond the summer.
What Do Host Families Provide?
• A separate room and bed for a player (or players) during the season
• A supportive, welcoming home environment
What Host Families Do Not Need to Do
• No transportation required — players have their own travel to and from practices and games
• No need to have children in the home
Host Family Benefits
• A small stipend
• Season tickets for all family members
• Invitations to exclusive pre-season and post-season host family events
• The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a young athlete’s life
• The chance to get to know a potential future Major League Baseball star
• Plenty of smiles and memories that last a lifetime
