Herkimer — Loaves and Fishes Warming Center is proud to announce the Grand Opening of the Community Clothing Closet’s relocation, designed to support individuals and families experiencing financial hardship by providing essential clothing and household goods at no cost.
The initiative was developed in response to growing community needs and has been made possible through the generous support of local residents, businesses, and partner organizations. Their contributions—ranging from donated items to volunteer hours and financial support—have played a vital role in bringing this project to life.
The Grand Opening event will take place on 4/12/26 at 1:00 pm-3:00 pm, located at 108 Park Ave, Herkimer. The program will include a ribbon‑cutting ceremony, remarks from community partners, and guided tours of the facility. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about available services, donation guidelines, and volunteer opportunities.
“Our goal is to ensure that every individual in our community has access to the basic items they need to live with dignity and stability,” said Christine Lawrence, Program Director. “This project reflects what is possible when a community comes together with compassion and purpose.”
The Community Clothing Closet will operate on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 12:30 pm-2:30 pm.
