LITTLE FALLS, NY — The Little Falls Common Council unanimously approved the sale of the Hansen Avenue Bridge (BIN 2255530) following a public hearing and special session on Monday, March 16, 2026.
The public hearing, held at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, drew no public comments or input.
Immediately afterward, the Council convened a special session to consider two resolutions related to the transaction.
Resolution #23 classified the proposed action under the State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) process and issued a negative declaration based on a Short Environmental Assessment Form.
Council members reviewed and answered “no” to all potential significant adverse environmental impacts, including effects on land use, community character, traffic, utilities, historic resources, natural resources, and public health.
Resolution #24 authorized a boundary line adjustment and the sale of the Hansen Island Bridge (also referred to as Hansen Avenue Bridge) and associated interests.
Both resolutions passed unanimously on a roll call vote.
Mayor Deborah Kaufman led the discussion, which included informal pre-hearing remarks about ongoing bridge maintenance challenges, load rating changes by state authorities, and related infrastructure issues in the city.
The bridge, built in 1939 and spanning the Mohawk River, has faced repeated inspections and restrictions in recent years.
The sale, previously authorized in principle by an ordinance (Resolution #19) on March 3, 2026, directs the sale and transfer to VOLTARIX, NVLLC.
The action relieves the city of ongoing maintenance and liability costs for the structure, which has posed logistical and financial burdens.
The Council adjourned immediately after the votes.

So a data center? Can’t wait for the backlash on this one. Gotta grab my popcorn!
Great idea! I’ll let him know you approve.
All you have to do is google VOLTARIX, NVLLC and you can see they’ve had backlash on previous solar projects in Canada. Those on fb saying they are going to build apartments are clueless. They’ve never once did so before.
You know you’ve got the totally inccorect company, right?
This is why planning board meetings should be in video format, so confusion doesn’t exist. Why does this company have an LLC based out of Nevada? The odds of this company named Voltarix not being associated with the one in Canada have to be crazy. What previous projects has this Voltarix done?
Not sure what planning has to do with it, but you’re free to show up to those public meetings and film them any time you like.
