The 2nd Annual Literacy and Career Extravaganza is slated for Sunday, November 16th, from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM. It will take place at Richfield Springs Central School on US Highway 20.
The event is hosted by the Community Literacy Alliance, Inc., a non-profit organization formed in 2023 to promote literacy and encourage reading at an early age. The purpose of this Extravaganza is to motivate children who are attending to explore different professions, through inspiring and interactive career presentations by local professionals. Presentations will be located in several elementary classrooms.
Registration will be held upon entry to the school cafeteria, at which time all children attending will be given a passport and a map of each 20-minute presentation, along with times and information for scheduled events for the afternoon. The passport should be taken to each presentation that a child chooses to attend. To be entered into a prize drawing where you choose your own prize, get your passport stamped when you attend each of four different career interactions!
Also scheduled will be a “Create A Dream” Storytime by Miss Kathryn, school librarian, as well as a Family Day Scholastic Book Fair. There will be a table of free books outside the library for each child to select a book to take home.
This is a family fun event! All children must be accompanied by an adult.
