Herkimer, NY – Tia Stewart, the Housekeeping Supervisor at Valley Health Services, has been honored with a 2026 LeadingAge New York Employee of Distinction Award. Stewart, who has worked at Valley Health Services for 10 years, helps manage the team that keeps the facility clean.

According to LeadingAge New York, this award recognizes top direct and indirect service staff who contribute their time, energy, and professionalism to New York State’s non-profit long-term care, housing, and aging services providers. A total of 16 awards are presented in this category each year and the New York State Legislature recognizes the extraordinary dedication of each winner with the presentation of a legislative resolution.

Valley Health Services residents and staff were on hand to congratulate Stewart on this accomplishment during a ceremony held on August 27.

“Tia takes great pride in her primary role in housekeeping while embracing the residents and their care as a personal love and professional responsibility, beyond building cleanliness,” said Lisa Betrus, MBA, LNHA, President of Valley Health and Valley Residential Services and Senior Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer for Bassett Healthcare Network. “Tia steps forward at every opportunity to support the team with resident care and safety while frequently going out of her primary scope of work to do what needs to be done.”
