New request system streamlines prescription transfer process for patients
UTICA, N.Y. – Kinney Drugs has launched a new self-service program that eases the prescription transfer process for patients who are looking for a new pharmacy. The new online tool, called 1-2-3 Transfer Me, is designed to complete prescription transfers in just three steps.
How it Works: To get started, patients just need three things: online access, knowledge of their current prescriptions, and their health insurance provider information. Then, they visit the Kinney Drugs website and click on http://www.kinneydrugs.com/transfer from the homepage to follow the prompts to complete their prescription transfer request. The Kinney Drugs Patient Care Team will take it from there, working with patient providers to complete the transfer.
Our pharmacy teams can also access the form to help patients transfer prescriptions in our stores. And, for those who do not have online access, Kinney Drugs has established a dedicated phone line for transferring, accessible at 1-888-927-8081.
Kinney Drugs hopes that this simple, streamlined process will help alleviate some of the stress and uncertainty caused by having to find a new provider. As a community-focused, employee-owned company, our goal is to be there for our patients whenever they need us.
“Our goal is to provide the highest quality pharmacy, health, and retail service to our neighbors in all of the communities that we serve,” said John Marraffa, R.Ph. President of Kinney Drugs and Kinney Homecare, and a longtime pharmacist. “We know that the community pharmacy landscape in Central New York and Northern New York continues to evolve, and that individuals and their families need to find new places to fill their prescriptions. Our Kinney Drugs team developed 1,2,3 Transfer Me to help make things easier and centralize the prescription transfer process for our patients.”
