Ilion, NY – Jeffrey H. “Jeff” Coy, age 63, of Ilion, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 23, 2026.
Jeff was born in Herkimer, NY, on June 6, 1963, a son of the late Howard and Betty (Walts) Coy. He graduated from the Mount Markham School District.
Jeff spent all his life in construction, something he had a knack for from a young age. Jeff was a previous member of the Cedarville Volunteer Fire Department. He was a passionate outdoorsman and an avid deer hunter.
He is survived by nephew, Christian Coy (Megan), and their children Alexandria, Ryleigh, and Olivia; his sister-in-law, Terri Coy; his uncles, David Walts (Mary) and Danny Ferguson; as well as his cousins, Kelly Bunce, Jason Matteson, Cheryl Walts, Danny Walts, and Tracie Ferguson.
Besides his parents, Howard and Betty, he was predeceased by his brother John Coy, his aunts and uncles: Richard Bunce (June), Bonnie Ferguson, and Jim Walts.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Cedarville Cemetery, where Jeff will be laid to rest. Following the service, relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Jeff’s life at the Cedarville Fire Hall from 2:00 pm to 4:00 PM.
