UTICA, NY – The Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley’s popular Lunch & Learn program scheduled for 11 AM, Wednesday, May 13, 2026, will feature our own Patty Foley as we learn about the Irish connection between two vastly different Emerald Isles.

The Caribbean Irish; sounds like a contradiction, doesn’t it?   And yet, the populations of many of the Caribbean islands boast a high percentage of Irish ancestry.

In fact, Usain Bolt says Ireland is ‘cold Jamaica, and Jamaica is a hot Ireland’.

Come learn more about the Irish in the Caribbean, hear the arguments about whether those first Irish were indentured servants or slaves, and consider the question, exactly what make someone Irish.

It promises to be a lively and thought-provoking presentation, followed by a delicious Five Points Pub lunch.

A $20 registration fee will cover the program and lunch; meal tax and gratuity are included. Please register at this link, https://bit.ly/4vjCnFq, or  leave a message at 315-733-4228 Ext 6.

You can attend this presentation at the H.A.R.P. Museum located on the second floor of the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley, 623 Columbia St, Utica. All are welcome to attend this program, and the museum is wheelchair accessible.
