The Herkimer County Sheriff’s Office Welfare Fraud Unit, assisted by the Herkimer County Department of Social Services, recently arrested the following individual for various Welfare Fraud charges.
Michael Atwood age 34 of Little Falls, NY was arrested for Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree a class E Felony and Welfare Fraud in the Fourth Degree a class E Felony.
Mr. Atwood fraudulently received in excess of $ 2,000.00 worth of benefits in which he was not entitled to receive over a period of 7 months.
Mr. Atwood was processed on the charges and arraigned in the Village of Ilion Court in front of Judge Stone. Mr. Atwood was committed to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility without bail.
