HERKIMER, NY – Herkimer County HealthNet, Inc. (HCHN) is continuing its support of Community Transportation Services (CTS), recognizing the important role transportation plays in helping rural residents access healthcare and other essential services.
Community Transportation Services is a volunteer-based organization serving the Old Forge and Central Adirondack area, providing transportation assistance to individuals who may otherwise have difficulty accessing medical appointments, healthcare services, and other necessary resources.
“Transportation continues to be one of the barriers we hear about throughout rural Herkimer County, particularly when it comes to accessing healthcare,” said Elyse Enea, Executive Director of Herkimer County HealthNet. “We’re grateful to be able to continue supporting Community Transportation Services and the volunteers who make this resource available to residents who need it.”
HealthNet has partnered with CTS for several years as part of its broader work to address transportation barriers and improve access to healthcare and community resources throughout Herkimer County.
The continued investment reflects HealthNet’s commitment to supporting local partnerships and strengthening resources that help residents remain healthy, connected, and independent in their communities.
