German Flatts, NY — The Herkimer County Democratic Committee will host a “Meet the Candidates” event on Thursday, October 16, at the German Flatts Community Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the event is free and open to the public.

The following candidates have confirmed their attendance:

• Blake Gendebien, Candidate for U.S. Congress, NY-21 (office to be elected in 2026)
• Betsy Snyder-Fortino, Candidate for New York State Supreme Court, 5th Judicial District
• Candace Randall, Candidate for New York State Supreme Court, 5th Judicial District
• Jerry Snyder, Candidate for New York State Supreme Court, 5th Judicial District
• Scott Carter, Candidate for Herkimer County Legislature, District 6
• Sally Casler, Candidate for Little Falls City Council Ward 2

The executive committee emphasized the importance of community engagement in local elections: “It’s important for citizens to know they have choices and to meet the candidates offering those choices. While much of what we hear about ‘politics’ is national, we often forget that local issues are far less partisan than we think. We have many strong, thoughtful candidates who would make excellent public servants, and we’re proud to stand with them as we head into Election Day.”

Any candidate wishing to join may do so by reaching out to the Co-Chairs at HerkDems@gmail.com prior to the event.
