SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The Dolgeville Blue Devils and Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights Football Teams fell short in their pursuit of 2025 Section III titles on Friday at the JMA Wireless Dome.
Class D
#1 Lowville 38, #2 Dolgeville 20
The second-seeded Dolgeville Blue Devils bid for a fifth consecutive Section III, Class D title did not come to fruition as they fell to the number one seed Lowville Red Raiders 38-20.
Dolgeville senior running back Jacob Moore had two touchdown runs from one and eight yards, respectively. Junior quarterback Tim Gomez had the other Blue Devils touchdown with his four-yard run in the fourth quarter. Logan Comstock was a perfect two for two on extra point attempts.
The Blue Devils finish the season with a record of 9-2. They were 5-0 at home.
8-Man
#2 Morrisville-Eaton 40, #1 Frankfort-Schuyler 36
The number one seed Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights suffered their first loss of the season on Friday in losing 40-36 to the second-seeded Morrisville-Eaton Mavericks in the 8-Man Section III championship game.
Frankfort-Schuyler entered as the two-time defending Section III 8-Man champions. They finish the 2025 season with a record of 10-1.
Maroon Knights senior Jerome Bowen had a huge game, recording three touchdown passes while also running in touchdowns from five and six yards. Bowen also had two successful two-point conversion runs.
Reese Bowen pulled a 72-yard touchdown reception for the Maroon Knights, and teammate Javon Myers had touchdown receptions from 10 and 28 yards.
