DOLGEVILLE, N.Y. — The Dolgeville Blue Devils Football Team opened the defense of their fourth straight Section III title in style at home on Friday night as they rolled over the Notre Dame Jugglers 49-22.
Notre Dame received the opening kickoff and had initial success moving the ball until Logan Comstock picked an Owen Bougourd pass at the Dolgeville 29-yard line. That would lead to the first score of the game as Blue Devils quarterback Tim Gomez scampered 25 yards into the endzone to give the home team a 7-0 lead.

Still leading 7-0, the Blue Devils blew the game open in the second quarter. Wyatt Eggleston converted an 11-yard run into a touchdown just over two minutes in. Dolgeville then got great field position, starting at the Notre Dame 48, which led to a one-yard plunge to paydirt by Caleb Herringshaw to extend the lead to 21-0.
With just over a minute to go in the half, Dolgeville’s Jacob Moore broke off a 72-yard touchdown run to make it 28-0. The Jugglers answered back with a touchdown of their own in the closing seconds, as Bougourd connected with Clyde Taylor on a 51-yard scoring play to close the lead to 28-6 going into the half.

The Jugglers went for an onside kick to start the second half, which the Blue Devils recovered. It would prove to be costly, as Gomez would close that drive out by rushing for his second touchdown of the game – this time from 29 yards out. He then connected with Moore on a 30-yard touchdown to extend the lead to 42-6.
It went from bad to worse for the visitors, as with 53 seconds left in the third quarter, Taegan Johnson scored on a 61-yard touchdown run to give the Blue Devils a 49-6 lead going into the fourth quarter.

The Jugglers moved the ball better in the fourth quarter and capitalized as Jonathan Jackson rushed for a pair of touchdowns. It was too late for the visitors, however, as Dolgeville opened its 2025 season with a 49-22 victory.
Dolgeville goes on the road for its next game on Friday night, September 12, as they travel to Beaver River to face the Beavers.
