LITTLE FALLS, NY – On Wednesday evening, the Dolgeville Community Band delivered an enchanting performance at Eastern Park, captivating a large crowd as part of the Little Falls Public Library’s Summer Concert Series.

The event, held at 7 p.m., brought back the nostalgic charm of the traditional “Concert in the Park” vibe reminiscent of the 1950s and 1960s.

Under the skilled direction of conductor Katlin Wolford, who also serves as the junior and senior high school band director at Dolgeville Central School, the band showcased a diverse repertoire.

Attendees enjoyed a vibrant mix of patriotic marches, beloved film scores, classic rock tunes, and soulful ballads, appealing to a wide range of musical tastes.

The ensemble, composed of Dolgeville students, teachers, current and retired local music educators, and talented musicians from the surrounding area, demonstrated their versatility and passion, earning enthusiastic applause from the audience.

The concert, the third in the library’s Summer Concert Series, was free and open to the public, made possible through generous funding from The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties and the CNY Arts Regrant program.

This support, facilitated by a New York Senate Initiative backed by the NYS Legislature, the Office of the Governor, and administered by the New York State Council on the Arts, underscores the commitment to fostering community engagement through the arts.

The large turnout reflected the community’s appreciation for live music and the opportunity to come together in the picturesque setting of Eastern Park.

The event not only highlighted the talent within the area but also reinforced the Little Falls Public Library’s role in promoting cultural enrichment.
