A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE FALLS
SCHEDULING A PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED LOCAL LAW NO.8 OF 2026
AMENDING CHAPTER 70 OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO NOISE CONTROL

WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Little Falls has received and introduced Proposed Local Law No.8 of 2026, entitled “A Local Law Amending Chapter 70 of the Code of the City of Little Falls Relating to Noise Control,” which aims to protect public health, safety, and welfare by regulating excessive, unnecessary, and unreasonable noise while preserving the City’s ability to conduct community events and authorized activities; and

WHEREAS, the proposed amendments include updates to quiet hours, regulations on barking dogs and animal noise, restrictions on fireworks, outdoor sound amplification, general noise disturbances, exemptions for municipal and permitted events, and other provisions; and

WHEREAS, pursuant to the Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York and the City Charter/Code, the Common Council desires to hold a public hearing to receive input from residents and interested parties prior to consideration of adoption of the proposed local law;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Little Falls as follows:

1. That a public hearing on Proposed Local Law No. 8 of 2026 be held on AUGUST 4, 2026 at 6:45PM at the City Hall, 659 East Main Street, Little Falls, New York.

2. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of the public hearing in the The Daily Post or Herkimer Telegram, once, at least five (5) days prior to the date of the hearing, which notice shall include a summary or general description of the proposed local law and the time and place of the hearing.

3. That a copy of the proposed local law shall be made available for public inspection at the City Clerk’s office and on the City’s website during normal business hours.

4. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
